Personality:
At first glance, Allura is the quintessential ideal fairytale-type princess: Kind, and self-sacrificing. As one of the few people standing in the way of the Galra’s total domination of the universe, Allura is unquestionably good, willing to go to any lengths to free and protect the various peoples all over the universe. When the Galmarans are at risk of losing their entire planet (the planet being a sentient being), Allura risks her life in an ancient Altean ritual to restore the Galmara back to health, and when her friends are being threatened by a virus in the ships system, she makes the heartbreaking choice to wipe the system clean, at the cost of the AI her father programmed to be with her after his death. Beyond that, she is a deeply caring and curious person, often offering words of encouragement and sympathy to those that need it. And there’s nothing much more Disney-like than her penchant for spending time with small, cute animals.
However, as much as her actions are good in nature, her motivations are often very deeply rooted in an almost self-destructive determination. Despite her soft appearance, Allura is bull-headed to a fault, and can be a bit of a control freak. From the beginning, she is the one eager to face the Galra head on, regardless of the risks, often reacting with anger rather than careful pragmatism. Although she is often more informed in the nuances of the war than her human counterparts, it easily slips into her being overbearing about her way being the best way. Known for her relentlessness once she makes up her mind, her gentle continence melts away into a hot-headed temper when others are unyielding to her direction. When she is unsatisfied in the skills of the newest batch of paladins, she forces them into a brutal training regiment, running attack drills in the middle of the night, and, despite their protests, she and Coran bind the paladins wrists together as they eat, to force them to work together as a unit. Ironically, later, when she becomes the paladin of the Blue Lion, her greatest hurdle is learning how to give up control, and accept that she is one of many equal parts of the team.
Her bull-headedness also manifests in a deep seated prejudice, and Allura is often guilty of painting large swaths of people with a broad brush. Her seemingly limitless capacity for forgiveness and understanding falls short when it comes to the Galra. Because of the war’s terrible toll on the universe, and on her people, she carries a pretty heavy grudge, and is the most hard-nosed one of the entire group when it comes to trusting any of them. When it is discovered that Keith is part Galra, her attitude towards him changes entirely, becoming cold and distrustful even though they have been friends for some time; and it’s not until Lotor calls her out for judging him on her preconceptions of his race that she starts to relent and trust him. Similarly, she is predisposed to trust fellow Alteans, and Altean allies at first glance. When they crossed into another reality where the Galra were defeated by the Alteans, she took the longest of everyone to realize that they were tyrants, and that her alternate-reality counterpart created a false peace at the cost of supposedly violent species’ free will. Fortunately, Allura is not relentless, and once she is allowed time to process and work past her immediate, emotional prejudices, she is willing to judge others by their actions.
As one of the last surviving Alteans, as well as the daughter of King Alfor, Allura has a strong sense of duty, and is deeply and personally invested in picking up her father’s work, and feels a great degree of pressure to perform in his former roles. Although she has expressed her distaste with how much of her work as a leader is shallow niceties (“Remember, Princess, 70 percent of diplomacy is appearance. Then 29 percent is manners, decorum, formalities and chit-chat”), she still dutifully falls into her role as a representative of Altea and Voltron, dressing up and negotiating with other nations as the face of Voltron. In these moments, she is a lot less genuine, with the proper grooming to keep her interactions with the other nations careful and professional, diplomatically glossing over problems if she fears it will get in the way of her end goal of cooperation, such as when she was trying to cover up that Voltron was missing one of its paladins, making them unable to actually form Voltron.
Powers/Abilities:
Fighting – Allura has been trained in combat since she was small. Skilled in many different weapons, but primarily uses her Bayard in the form of a whip.
Expert Pilot – Says she's been piloting the Castle-ship for half of her life. Pilots the Blue Lion.
Strength – Allura displays a surprising amount of strength, capable of throwing a grown man if needed.
Highly Empathic – Is used to help communicate with living planets and the mice on board her ship.
Minor shapeshifting – Mostly limited to small changes in height, and skin color. (It's not really talked about much in canon)
Quintessence manipulation – Quintessence is a mystical, powerful energy that permeates many of living things. Allura can channel and manipulate this magical energy.
Power Nerfs:
I'm planning on negating most parts of the more magical quintessence manipulation. Either the substance is not as prominent/exists in El Nysa, or her powers are just stunted.
Inventory:
Pink Paladin armor
Jumpsuit
Bayard – the traditional weapon of a paladin. Basically, looks like a handle, then, once wielded, it changes to fit the user. Allura’s takes the form of a whip.
Incentives:
Fighting for good is usually incentive enough for her. Protecting others, promoting peace… If anyone is trying to get her to do something she disagrees with, morally, it would take a lot more. Either the end goal would have to be significantly good enough to justify the means, or the consequences of not doing it would have to be dire (blackmail, threatening friends, etc)

As one of the few people standing in the way of the Galra’s total domination of the universe, Allura is unquestionably good, willing to go to any lengths to free and protect the various peoples all over the universe. She cares deeply about most beings, shedding tears for friends and strangers alike, and throwing herself into danger for the sake of others. When the Galmarans are at risk of losing their entire planet (the planet being a sentient being), Allura risks her life in an ancient Altean ritual to restore the Galmara back to health, and when her friends are being threatened by a virus in the ships system, she makes the heartbreaking choice to destroy it at it's source, which is the same location that her father's memories are stored, effectively erasing the last traces of her father that he left after his death. Beyond that, she is a deeply caring and curious person, often offering words of encouragement and sympathy to those that need it. And there’s nothing much more princess-like than her penchant for spending time with small, cute animals.
However, as much as her actions are good in nature, her motivations are often very deeply rooted in an almost self-destructive determination and obsession with defeating the Galra at all costs. Despite her soft appearance, Allura is bull-headed to a fault, and, although she values her friends and their advice, ultimately she is the most comfortable when she is unquestioningly in control of a situation. From the beginning, she is the one eager to face the Galra head on, regardless of the risks, often reacting with anger rather than careful pragmatism. Known for her relentlessness once she makes up her mind, her gentle continence melts away into a hot-headed temper when others are unyielding to her direction. Even her closest allies are often unable to dissuade her once her mind is set, and when facing opposition from her teammates, Allura is more likely to brashly do it by herself rather than to take a step back and reevaluate her strategy. This sometimes comes as a detriment of the team, such as when she insists on sneaking aboard the Galra ship (resulting in her capture) and investigating the abandoned Altean ship (resulting in a powerful alloy falling into enemy hands). Although she is often more informed in the nuances of the war than her human counterparts, it easily slips into her being overbearing about her way being the best way. When she is unsatisfied in the skills of the newest batch of paladins, she forces them into a brutal training regiment, running attack drills in the middle of the night, and, despite their protests, she and Coran bind the paladins wrists together as they eat, to force them to work together as a unit. When it is discovered that Keith is part Galra, her attitude towards him changes entirely, becoming cold and distrustful even though they have been friends for some time; and even though she has been working with Galra resistance members for some time before it happens, when she speaks to Lotor face-to-face she does not shy away from calling him the leader of 'the most bloodthirsty race of murderers this universe has ever known'. It’s not until Lotor calls her out for judging him on her preconceptions of his race that she starts to relent and trust him even a little bit. Fortunately, Allura is not relentless, and once she is allowed time to process and work past her immediate, emotional prejudices, she is willing to apologize, and judge others by their actions.
